The Ducal rooms

Once the Milanese residence of Galeazzo Maria Sforza and Bona di Savoia (from 1468), the ducal apartments, which are on the ground floor adjacent to the Ducal Courtyard, today house the Museum of Ancient Art. In addition to elegant cloister vaulted ceilings, some of the rooms still conserve the original, although extensively restored, painted decorations. The third room of the museum is the chapel of Saint Donatus, the ceiling depicts a scene of the resurrection of Christ, most likely commissioned by Galeazzo Maria Sforza and completed before 1477.
